Seriously, it took 4 seconds to be kind…

Sunday morning, while getting off the train, I quickly assessed a situation. I observed a young-ish couple clearly arguing about a Metrocard (subway fare in NYC). He was on one side, and she was on the other waving a card in her hand. The train was still there. I had a monthly card, so I asked (more like a statement) You need to get on? She nodded emphatically, so while holding on to my card tightly (’cause those suckers are expensiiiiive!), I swiped her in. Didn’t even look back. I just can’t stand fighting for no reason. This exchange took seconds. I hope they stopped the contention and can each be kind to someone else and each other…
